An R3 and R2 will be assigned to the PLAZA 2team.
A subintern will be assigned to the PLAZA team,
A third year medical student will be assigned to the PLAZA team.
The already existing GMF D (PLAZA 1) team which consists of an R2, and
Sub I will continue to take call in a cyclic fashion with the other GMF
teams however only PLAZA patients will be covered by this team. GMF D (PLAZA
1) and the PLAZA 2 team will split the census and provide coverage
throughout the general medical floors independent of location.
The GMF D (Plaza1) team will take call in rotation with the other GMF
teams. An intern from Team C will take call with Team D.
The patients may be primarily on the PLAZA service or may be seen in
consultation.
The R3 on service will perform all consults and be responsible for
primary management of patients as directed by the attending.
The target number of patients to be covered by both GMF D (PLAZA 1) and
PLAZA 2 is 28
Depending on the volume of patients the teams may be asked to see
patients in the CCU or ICU.
The R2 will be required to follow the subIs patients but will not be
required to write a note on a daily basis.
The housestaff will be expected to see the patients prior to the Plaza
attending and formulate a therapeutic plan for the day. He or she will also
be required to complete any discharge paperwork required.
The housestaff will be required to dictate discharge summaries.
The PLAZA attending will be required to physically round on the most
seriously ill patients with the R2 and SubI. The plan for the less seriously
ill patients must be discussed but joint rounding on these patients is not
required.
