Ambulatory R3: Duties and Responsibilities

Please review this with
Kathy Pearce the
first day of the rotation-
1) Staff all assigned subspecialty sessions
all sessions start promptly at 9AM or 1PM
all patients need to be seen by an attending
2) Staff all consults on 3B (on the day they were called)
all 3B consults should be reviewed (and seen) by the chiefs attending within 24 hrs
all patients should have follow up on an as needed basis
3) Check all mailboxes of subspecialty clinics on a daily basis
any labs which are abnormal should be
acted upon (if necessary) prior to the next clinic
session.
the attending that staffed the clinic with
you should be informed of any significantly
abnormal lab abnormalities
4) Perform urgent care visits as needed
5) Enter patients into webINR (coordinate anticoagulation
services).
You must be trained on webINR prior to use of the webINR
system
6) Establish a list of all ASU patients in the SCM system.
Review this list on a daily basis
and act on any clinical alerts that are triggered.

7) Renew medications for patients as needed
Give ambulatory grand rounds. Discuss the topic with Dr. Dietzen or
Schneider
at least 2 weeks ahead of time.
