Greetings Residents: On the page below is a roadmap, if you will, of the milestones we would expect you to accomplish by the end of your first year. Imperative to your learning is the practice of self-reflection. As you move along in your days during residency, your clinical experiences with patients, peers, and other clinicians will profoundly influence your development. Reflecting, documenting, and/or discussing these experiences will not only help you realize that you are learning, it will also enable you to measure where you are in your journey to a fully competent physician. Please go through each of these milestones. While doing so, site specific examples (patient experiences, memories, H&Ps, and or progress notes) where either you fully accomplished the goal, struggled, or floundered with it. Discuss them with your faculty advisor and come up with the next step in your learning. This is a process for the years to come, and should not be completed all at once. Ultimately, the documentation you do will serve as a final “portfolio” and proof of your educational experience while at Abington. Thank you.: The FACULTY!
