3rd year Clerkship

  • 4 to 5 TUH students, 1 Drexel & 1 PCOM student per 4 week rotation
  • 13 full-time faculty, 50 AMH residents, 2 TUH residents and TUH Chief Resident.
  • Structure: (Inpatient & Ambulatory) 4 week inpatient rotation on a General Medicine service, hospitalist model. A GMF team consists of R2 or R3, R1, one clerk, one subintern.

     TUH and Drexel: Ambulatory 4 week block, curriculum specified by institution.

  • Student Lectures:
      • TUH case-based curriculum -     AMH faculty
      • Cardiology/EKG Interpretation - Dr. Steve Teich (weekly)         
      • Student Case Presentation -  Dr. J. Kelly, Chief of Staff
      • Hematology/Oncology Rounds (outpatient) – Dr. P. Pickens
      • Daily resident AM report &12 Noon Resident Lectures
      • Weekly Medicine Grand Rounds
  • Call and Weekend responsibilities: no long or overnight call. No Sat rounds.

Subinternship in Medicine

  • 2-5 TUH students, 1-2 Drexel & 1 PCOM student per 4 week rotation.
  • Structure: Inpatient General Medicine service, hospitalist model.
  • Lecture Series: Drexel case-based curriculum – AMH and Drexel faculty
  • Call: No overnight or long call. Attendance at Saturday rounds is required. 

4th yr Electives: Neurology, Emer Med, Infect Dis, GI, CCU, ICU, Rheum, Renal

  • Lottery assigned or arranged by calling the Department of Medicine.
